In today’s rapidly evolving digital age, the act of reading is undergoing profound transformation. The
proliferation of digital devices and online platforms has not only expanded access to information but also
introduced new complexities and challenges for readers of all ages. As digital reading becomes the norm,
individuals must navigate a multitude of distractions, process information across diverse modalities, and
critically evaluate the reliability and accuracy of online content, all while maintaining focus and deep
engagement with texts (Cain, 2025; Chen & Xiao, 2024; Min & Seo, 2024; Norberg et al., 2025).
